Jandia: Quality Up, Costs Down with PTC Creo

Amid the cotton fields and forested mountains of southern India, you’ll find Coimbatore, a metropolis that grew up around textile mills in the 1920s and 1930s. To support those mills over the years—a precision manufacturing industry emerged.  And, you might expect, with manufacturing came a healthy engineering sector.

That leads us to Jandia Engineering, a company rich in technical expertise that serves not just local manufacturers, but now much of Europe and the United States too. The business says that from its time zone, it benefits its international clients because while others are asleep, Jandia works.

For its various customers, Jandia designs and prototypes gears, drills, and power saws. The team produces electronic components, as well as various plastic and rubber items, too. But most of all, Jandia specializes in mechanical engineering CAD services.

Doing More with Legacy Designs

The Jandia team can help clients make sense of complicated assemblies. The company’s engineers turn collections of 2D drawings into 3D models, or pull meaningful cross sections from 3D geometry. They’ll also combine all your 2D drawings and 3D models into a 3D assembly.

“Typically clients require tens or hundreds of individual 3D models, 3D CAD models, 3D Assembly Drawings, CAD Drawings …which ultimately come together to form a single complex assembly,” reads the corporate website. “It can be very difficult to assess what even a simple assembly may look like, without a visual of it. Jandia makes this process extremely simple by using its expertise in the fields of assembly modeling thereby, helping our clients see what their assembly’s would eventually look like, once commissioned.”

New Product Development

More recently, Jandia has become aggressive in its new product development business. The company has been assessing the best ways to cut design time, reduce costs, and improve quality.

That’s why Jandia upgraded from Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire to PTC Creo.  With PTC Creo, engineers now design products the most up-to-date 3D CAD technology. Plus, they added PTC Creo Flexible Modeling Extension (FMX) to their tool chest.

With its new, more straightforward interface, users consistently perform design tasks faster with PTC Creo. And with PTC Creo FMX, the team can now modify models without concern for design intent. That means that concept design is faster, and late changes don’t lead to schedule delays.
