Brandt R. Karstens


Brandt Karstens is a vice-president and the director of systems for HDR's Architecture Company, where he is responsible for technology and systems implementations for the global firm. Prior to his position at HDR, Brandt served as CIO at Empire Insurance Companies (part of Zurich Financial Services) and vice-president of technology for Guarantee Life Insurance Companies (now part of Lincoln Financial Group). Brandt has more than 20 years' business experience, with most of that time in the information technology field. His expertise includes strategy development, team building, planning, project management, system development and technology implementations. Brandt holds a bachelor's of business administration degree in accounting and an MBA from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
