Performance evaluation guide now includes a Battery Rundown Test, plus more new features.

Cadalyst has released an update of the Cadalyst Systems Benchmark, designed to test and compare the performance of systems running AutoCAD 2000–2012. Test files for c2012 are available free for download.

What's New in c2012

The following adjustments are present in the latest version of the benchmark:

  • Disabled viewport controls for maximum performance on 3D tests.
  • Adjusted several functions to balance test times.
  • Added a Battery Rundown Test for use with mobile computers.
  • Renamed test drawings and files.

The Cadalyst Systems Benchmark is designed for use with full, basic, Window-based AutoCAD only. It is not intended for use and may not function properly with market-specific AutoCAD versions such as Architecture, Mechanical, or Civil 3D; AutoCAD LT; trial versions; international versions; Mac OS versions, etc.

The test evaluates four areas of system performance: 3D Graphics, 2D Graphics, Disk, and CPU. It compares the test times of your current system with a set of base times and computes an index number. As is true for all benchmark tests, the Cadalyst Benchmark Test is merely a guide for measuring system performance.

The original Cadalyst Systems Benchmark was released in 1996. All versions have been developed by Art Liddle, a former editor-in-chief of Cadalyst magazine and now a physics teacher at Springfield High School in Springfield, Oregon.
