This 3D model of a drum shaft was created by Ivan Kolotygin, designer, OMZ (Obedinennye Mashinostroitelnye Zavody, formerly United Heavy Machinery), one of Russia?s largest integrated heavy industry companies. OMZ designs and manufactures equipment and machinery for such industries as shipbuilding, nuclear energy, mining, and onshore and offshore oil and gas. OMZ uses NX digital product development software from UGS on Windows 2000 SP2. The drum shaft was developed for the 600 DER drilling rig and is the hoist shaft of the drawworks.
