12 Apr, 2010 By: Cadalyst StaffThis Week's Software Tips
Copy and Paste Text with a Twist
Frequent tipster Leonid Nemirovsky sent us a tip on how to use a TXT file or a DOC file to create a standard notes file, a list file, or an abbreviations file — plus, a new twist on the Windows Copy and Paste functions! View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Find Annotative Objects
Raymond Rizkallah shares with us two routines he wrote to find and select annotative objects in a drawing. "FIND-ANNO.LSP is a utility to filter annotative objects." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Use AutoCAD-Created PDF Files
Designer Chris Micallef sends us a tip on how to create PDF files that can be more useful in AutoCAD than a standard PDF file. "Although AutoCAD 2010 works very well with PDFs, depending on how they were created, they can be frustrating." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Draw Dynamic Tangent Arcs
Lloyd Beachy sends us a LISP routine that he uses to create arcs that are tangent to existing lines. "Select an existing line or arc and a new arc will be drawn tangent to the nearest endpoint." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Review Cadalyst's Tip Submission Guidelines, then Submit Your Tip for your favorite CAD software. If we publish your tip, you'll earn a gift card you can use to purchase a T-shirt or other prizes in the Cadalyst Store. Please remember to submit only code and other tips that are your original work (or provide the original source so we can include proper credit) and to tell us which software version you use.
By submitting code, you grant Cadalyst the right to print and distribute your code in print, digitally, and by other means. Cadalyst and individual authors retain all rights to the code; published code is not to be used for commercial purposes.
