Classic Tip: Set Viewport Scales
James Olszewski sent us tip number 3125, which was published in January 2009. Set Viewport Scales provides a method of setting the scale in a paper space viewport. It is simple to use, and helpful when zooming in drawings that haven't had the viewport display locked.
New Contex Americas Web Site Offers Scanner Paraphernalia
Contex, a developer of wide-format scanning and imaging solutions, has launched a new web site offering scanner accoutrements: consumables, accessories, software, and replacement parts. Online ordering is available to U.S.-based distributors, dealers, and end users. Visitors can search by either part number or scanner model.
PLM Provider Shares Presentations from ACE 2010 Germany

Engineering software developer Maplesoft has released MapleSim 4.5, which is free to MapleSIM 4 users. The latest release includes enhanced support for Modelica, an open standard for describing physical models and components. Interested parties can also apply for an evaluation version of the physical modeling and simulation tool.

Kubotek Offers Reduced Price and Free Trial for Spectrum CAD Viewer
Engineering software firm Kubotek is selling the Spectrum CAD Viewer, which normally retails for $199, for $99. Spectrum enables users to view, manipulate, and print 2D and 3D CAD formats including PDF, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, NX, CATIA V4, Pro/E, IGES, STEP, and others. A three-day free trial of the software is also available.
LEDAS Provides Free Sample Models for Testing Geometric Constraint Solver
Visitors to the LEDAS web site can download the free Lege'n'd demonstration application, which is bundled with a set of representative examples of various 3D assemblies. Anyone can use the application to test the functionality, robustness, and performance of LGS 3D, the company's geometric constraint solver, which was recently updated to version 4.0.
Users Can Request Evaluation Version of Anark Core 3.2 for 3D PDFs
Interested readers can request a free evaluation version of Anark Core, Anark Corporation's software for authoring and publishing 3D PDF manufacturing documents. Anark, a provider of automated 3D CAD transformation and visualization solutions, recently released version 3.2 of the software, which allows users to create animated manufacturing work instructions in native Adobe 3D PDF.
