This Week's Software Tips
Have You Heard about Harry?
When it comes to CAD code, Hot Tip Harry knows a good tip when he sees it! Use the "Submit Tip" button below to send us your LISP routines. If we publish your tip, you'll earn a gift card you can use to purchase a T-shirt or other prizes in the Cadalyst Store.
Fix Your Revision Cloud
Tipster Frances Emerson sends us a trick to correct problematic revision clouds made by the RevCloud command in AutoCAD. "The RevCloud command in later releases of AutoCAD has an annoying tendency to frequently make clouds that are inside out, without opening the dialog box to give you the option of reversing the direction." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Speed Up Search
Engineering Technician Hayden Clarke shares a tip with us that can help speed up AutoCAD's search abilities. "Memory limits and speed are current issues when using AutoCAD. One way to increase performance is to keep AutoCAD's temporary files folder clean." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Create Profile Views with Several Tools
Project Mapping Technician Cody J. Guidry explains how to create profile elevations in AutoCAD. "This is a great method for drawing profiles if you are using standard AutoCAD, but if you have Land Desktop (LDT) or Civil 3D (C3D), you can use this tip also. It looks like a lengthy process, but it is actually pretty quick." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
The BPoly (Boundary) Command
Repeat tipster Danny Korem offers some advice about using the BPoly (Boundary) command instead of the Polyline Edit command. "Many AutoCAD users employ the Polyline Edit command with the Join function to turn existing geometry into a polyline. There are cases in which this can be really tedious." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
