Getting Better with Age
Is there a classic tip that you're still using today? Use the "Submit Tip" button below to tell us about your favorites from the past, so we can tell your fellow CAD users how wonderful they are!
Project Management with Sheet Sets
Tipster Danny Korem shares his experiences using sheet sets and the Sheet Set Manager in AutoCAD to manage his projects: "A sheet set can be plotted, archived, e-transmitted, and used for many daily tasks. In addition, once you get used to it, you can take advantage of manipulating the whole sheet set at once." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Create Multiple-Leader Objects
Frequent tipster Leonid Nemirovsky shares a simple method he uses as an alternative to mleaders in AutoCAD. "First turn off osnaps and ortho, then create one leader as you normally create them. Next, highlight the leader with grips, and click on the arrowhead grip to make it active (red)." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Ctrl to Pan
Tipster Nicholas Thompson shares a method to pan by direction using the Ctrl key in AutoCAD. "Reading the 'Click to Scroll' tip reminded me of the panning capability provided by the Ctrl key and the wheel button on the mouse." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Filter in Quick Select
CAD Supervisor Eric Hudak tells us how he uses the filtering feature in AutoCAD's Quick Select tool to simplify his object selection process. "Introduced with AutoCAD 2000, Quick Select is a powerful tool that helps you make complex object selections quickly. It allows you to create a selection set based on filtering criteria."
