This Week's Software Tips
Have You Heard about Harry?
When it comes to CAD code, Hot Tip Harry knows a good tip when he sees it! Use the "Submit Tip" button below to send us your LISP routines. If we publish your tip, you'll earn a $25 gift card you can use to purchase a T-shirt or other prizes in the Cadalyst Store.
Useful System Settings
Tipster Bob Zipprich shares a few AutoCAD system settings that you might need to know about. "These three AutoCAD system variables have the ability to affect the way you work in AutoCAD," says tip reviewer Brian Benton. "It's all a matter of preference and need." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Stretch Objects with Osnaps
Tipster Danny Korem shows us how to access osnaps in AutoCAD during other commands. "Suppose you have a rectangular polyline with a side that is not accurate or precise. When you select it by a crossing window and select one of the corners within the same crossing window, you have no idea what the exact stretch value will be — and you're not going to calculate it, are you?" View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Oops without Oops
Davin D. Hatley sent us a tip as a response to Tip no. 3657, "Oops — On Purpose" that demonstrates another method to clear up your working area using the Oops command. "I have found a couple different ways to get a similar result. These tips have saved me more than once!" View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Video Tip: Quick Quit AutoCAD
Alex Borodulin of nyacad.com shares Quick Quit AutoCAD, a video that demonstrates a free add-on that provides commands for quick ending of an AutoCAD session when you need to close multiple, complex models but are short on time.
