Create Page Setup Templates
AutoCAD Certified Professional Sam Lucido shares a tip that will save you time in AutoCAD by presetting your printer settings and easily importing them into any file. "Preparing page setups ahead of time is one of the biggest time-savers AutoCAD users can take advantage of," said tip reviewer Brian Benton. View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Trim and Extend with EdgeMode
Drafter Kathy Bracisco shares a tip that expands on Cadalyst CAD Tip No. 3739. "In addition to David Gaskill's 'Leverage the Trim and Extend Commands' tip, I find that the EdgeMode system variable is a great help to me." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Get the Image Out
Tipster Dean Culver expands on Cadalyst CAD Tip No. 3743, "Save Screen Captures," where the SaveImg command is used to save the AutoCAD screen as an image file. "One issue with the SaveImg command is that it won't show objects in floating model space when in paper space, or vice versa." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Master Linetypes through Viewports
Tipster Danny Korem shares a method for resolving linework-printing problems in AutoCAD. "I had a call from a client of mine who became a bit frustrated while trying to master his output. Since his linework included attached xrefs (both his and others'), he thought that setting the linetype scale to an ordinary value (such as 1) would cover all non-continuous lines in his file."
