This Week's Software Tips
New Year, Old Tips
Is there a classic tip that you still rely on today? Use the "Submit Tip" button below to tell us about your favorites from the past, so we can dust them off and share them with your fellow CAD users!
Copy Nested Objects
Michael G. Knox shares with us a tip on how to copy AutoCAD objects through a referenced file. "This basic tip is one a lot of people do not use in AutoCAD. Our office works with a lot of xrefs in drawings, and this tip often comes in handy." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Change Color Settings
Senior Product Designer Paul Bailey sent us a tip on how to change the colors of your AutoSnap markers in AutoCAD. "So, after all this time, you finally have that new CAD workstation running Windows 7, only to discover that when you fire up AutoCAD your AutoSnap marker is not visible in TileMode 1." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Architect Ronald Lohan was inspired by a previous tip and gives us another on using the z-axis in AutoCAD to alter the UCS (user coordinate system) to create angled linework. "I appreciated Marcel Aubin's tip on x,y,z filters (Tip #3538). He reminds us of some of the simple commands that make life easier in AutoCAD." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Following are this week's reminders, tidbits, and miscellaneous updates from the Cadalyst Tip Patrol.
We received two very similar tips about the Change Space command in AutoCAD. We've run tips on this before, but wanted to remind you about it because it is a great command. The ChSpace command will move selected objects from model space to paper space, and vice-versa. Check out Tip #3225, Change Space Without Changing Text Size, and #3170, Change Space.
