Duplicate Layer Properties the Easy Way

Lightworks Launches Resource Site for Artisan Users
Lightworks, which supplies rendering solutions for developers of 3D computer graphics software, has launched a new web site for users of Lightworks Artisan applications. The Artisan user portal offers registered users tools and materials to help them create designs, including a searchable knowledge base and free downloadable content.

Arena Introduces Cloud PLM Pricing Plan Starting at $49 Per Month
Arena Solutions, a provider of cloud PLM (product lifecycle management) applications for bill of materials (BOM) and change management, has lowered the starting price of its flagship product to $49 a month for up to three people. BOMControl is available in Basic, Plus, and Unlimited plans, each of which supports six feature sets designed to help discrete manufacturers manage their production process.

Engineering Simulation Conference Issues Call for Presentations
NAFEMS, an independent global organization dedicated to the advancement and improvement of engineering simulation, is now accepting abstract submissions for its 2012 North America Conference. The deadline for submissions is May 14, 2012; the event will be held in Washington, D.C., September 11–12.
Machine Prototype Creators Win Roland Creative Awards Contest
Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in China won the grand prize in the Roland Creative Awards international contest, which drew 1,193 entries. The team transformed the 2D design of a tunneling machine into a scale-model 3D prototype. The model was produced using a Roland MDX-540 milling machine, and comprises several sections that were each milled separately from a variety of materials.

Vectorworks Releases Updated Guide for Lighting Designers
Nemetschek Vectorworks has released an updated training guide for users of Vectorworks software: Light Plot Deconstructed for Vectorworks Spotlight, Fourth Edition ($75), by scenic and lighting designer Gregg Hillmar. The guide reflects functions as a companion handbook to the software, and addresses palettes, workspaces, grids and layers, plus the basics of importing files, saving views, and placing instrumentation.
