Customize the Quick Properties Palette
Frequent tipster Danny Korem shares some insights about AutoCAD's Quick Properties palette. "Many users disabled the Quick Properties tool as soon as they could — they found it annoying. I find it very useful; it's the shortest way for your mouse to intervene in specific properties and/or make other properties accessible." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Change Layer Colors
Leland Leahy shares a routine he created for AutoCAD and its verticals that helps him change the color of layers that objects are on. "The LISP routine below is a good way to quickly change all the layers of a certain color to another color without having to go through the dialog box." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Access a Calculator in AutoCAD
Frequent tipster Leonid Nemirovsky explains how users can access a calculator in AutoCAD. "The Quick Calculator works just like a regular scientific calculator; it also has extra tools built in," explained Cadalyst Tip Reviewer Brian Benton. "The Quick Calculator can get information from your drawing and use it in its calculations." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
