Add Annotation Scales to Multiple Xrefs from the Host Drawing
Tawfik Shehata sent us a tip about adding annotation scales to AutoCAD objects. "If you are working on a drawing with multiple xrefs attached to it, and you need to assign one or more annotation scales to the annotative objects inside those xrefs, try this method." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Check for Duplication During Data Extraction
Frequent tipster Danny Korem shares a technique he uses during AutoCAD data extraction to ensure that he doesn't duplicate data. "This is a good tip that can help you check your data. If the x,y,z coordinates are duplicated, then the data is likely to have been duplicated as well," said Cadalyst Tip Reviewer Brian Benton. View the complete tip and post your feedback.
AutoCAD Civil 3D Tip: Organize Your Grading into Sites
Todd Rogers shares an AutoCAD Civil 3D tip that will help eliminate fatal errors when grading a site. "Grading can be very touchy in AutoCAD Civil 3D, as many of you know. If it is not done correctly, or done in an orderly fashion, it will tend to corrupt the drawing and cause fatal errors." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Review Cadalyst's Tip Submission Guidelines, then Submit Your Tip for your favorite CAD software. If we publish your tip, you'll earn a gift card you can use to purchase a T-shirt or other prizes in the Cadalyst Store. Please remember to submit only code and other tips that are your original work (or provide the original source so we can include proper credit) and to tell us which software version you use.
By submitting code, you grant Cadalyst the right to print and distribute your code in print, digitally, and by other means. Cadalyst and individual authors retain all rights to the code; published code is not to be used for commercial purposes.
