Hot Tip Harry Is Looking for LISP
Hot Tip Harry is always keeping an eye out for the best CAD code! Use the "Submit Tip" button below to send us your AutoLISP routines. If we publish your tip, you'll earn a $25 gift card you can use to purchase a T-shirt or other prizes in the Cadalyst Store.
Create a List of All Referenced AutoCAD Files
Frequent tipster Danny Korem shares a trick using rtext to create an automated and dynamic list of all referenced files in your AutoCAD file. View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Custom Dot Hatch Pattern
Kent Cooper didn't like the dot hatch patterns in AutoCAD, so he made his own and shared them with us. "I was a little surprised to find that in AutoCAD's/Architectural Desktop's dots and general dots hatch patterns, although it appears that the 'dots' they draw (really zero-length lines) are in a triangular grid, they actually are not." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
A LISP Routine to Toggle the Menu Bar On and Off
Master tipster Leonid Nemirovsky has created a small LISP routine that will toggle the AutoCAD menu bar on and off in a simple way. View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Project a View of Your 3D Model
Tipster Kent Elrod shares a trick you can try to get a different view using AutoCAD's Viewbase and Viewproj commands. "After you use the Viewbase command, Viewproj can give you an isometric view, but sometimes you want a view that's slightly different from the isometric view provided." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Review Cadalyst's Tip Submission Guidelines, then Submit Your Tip for your favorite CAD software. Be sure to tell us which software version you use. If we publish your tip, you'll earn a gift card you can use to purchase a T-shirt or other prizes in the Cadalyst Store. Please submit only tips or code that are your original work. By submitting code, you grant Cadalyst the right to print and distribute your tip in print, digitally, and by other means. Cadalyst and individual authors retain all rights to submitted tips.
By submitting code, you agree that your code can be reused as-is or modified by other users in conjunction with AutoCAD or other software programs to gain efficiencies in that software for professional or personal use, and that your code can be shared freely among users. Users do not have the right to republish code in any manner or format (such as on a blog web site or in a printed document) for personal or commercial gain without written permission from Cadalyst and the original author.
