Create Selection Sets with Quick Select
Frequent tipster Danny Korem sent in a tip to help you select the right objects in your AutoCAD file. "We probably spend 80% of our time in AutoCAD on editing and modifying existing data, and the remaining 20% on creating new data. That's the reason that creating selection sets effectively can catalyze our tasks." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Add Headers to an Existing Table
Tip guru Leonid Nemirovsky shares a trick to help you add headers to an AutoCAD table with a quick copy-and-paste maneuver. "AutoCAD tables are very powerful and can do many things that a regular spreadsheet program can do," said Brian Benton, Cadalyst tip reviewer. View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Set Table Breaks
In a second table tip, Leonid Nemirovsky explains a way to set a table break in AutoCAD. Like most AutoCAD objects, AutoCAD tables can be edited by grips. View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Right-Click Your Way to a Polyline
Tipster James J. Olszewski shares a quick and easy way to convert AutoCAD objects to a polyline in AutoCAD verticals. "This is a useful tip about an ever-present editing tool that many may not have noticed." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Review Cadalyst's Tip Submission Guidelines, then Submit Your Tip for your favorite CAD software. If we publish your tip, you'll earn a gift card you can use to purchase a T-shirt or other prizes in the Cadalyst Store. Please remember to submit only code and other tips that are your original work (or provide the original source so we can include proper credit) and to tell us which software version you use.
