Video Tip: Breaking Lines on Block Insert
Craig Snell alerts readers to a video tip from Symetri about breaking lines when you insert a block. "This AutoCAD tip is ideal when drawing schematics, but can be used in lots of different drawing types. Basically this is a dynamic block with a wipeout inside."

Foundry Publishes MODO 701 Tutorial Videos
The Foundry, a developer of visual effects software, has published a set of videos that explain elements of the design ideation process with Luxology MODO 701 3D modeling, painting, and rendering software. Available in the Foundry's YouTube channel, the videos address Basic Modeling Tools, Sculpting, Applying Decals, and Exporting.

Brunson Instrument Company has unveiled a redesigned website that features detailed product descriptions, photos, videos, and company news. The company also rolled out a new mobile website app. The sites cater to alignment, inspection, and measurement professionals seeking products and services to support applications in aerospace, automotive, science, power generation, mill processes, and more.
gvSIG Offers Recorded Webinar about Open-Source GIS Project

Plastics U, a worldwide learning platform that provides plastics processing knowledge and tips, is now offering free Moldex3D courses and tutorials to registered users. These online courses provide an overview of the software concepts, applications, and features for part designers, mold designers, and CAE specialists in the plastics industry.
Collaboration: TeamPlatform Cloud Sharing and Storage Service
3D Systems has launched TeamPlatform, a cloud service enabling users to view, share, and manage 3D files via a web browser. TeamPlatform keeps all project files in one place, synced and up-to-date. Users can comment on files, assign tasks, and manage project timelines. The Basic plan is free; Pro and Enterprise plans are also available.
Printers: Isis One Desktop 3D Printer
Isis3D has launched the Isis One desktop 3D printer ($2,199), which enables engineers, designers, architects, and makers to create prototypes of all kinds as well as mechanically and structurally functional final parts. It features a 12 x 12 x 9 inch build volume and LCD Smart Controller console, which allows standalone, computer-free printing. The Isis One prints in PLA, a standard thermoplastic.
MCAD: Geometric DFX
Geometric has launched a standalone DFX validation solution (DFX stands for Design for X, where X represents various downstream process checks). Geometric DFX is powered by Geometric's design for manufacturability solution DFMPro and leverages the CGM 3D modeling kernel from Spatial. Geometric DFX supports CAD formats from CATIA V5, Inventor, and other programs.
