This Week's Software Tips
Create Multiple Rotated Copies in 2D and 3D
Tipster Tawfik Shehata shares a trick that lets you paste a copy of an AutoCAD object to match the rotation of an object. "If you are familiar with using the User Coordinate System (UCS), then you may have noticed that the Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) commands reference to the current UCS when launched." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Drag Grips to Check Drawing Accuracy
In his second tip for the week, Tawfik Shehata shares a trick using AutoCAD grips to help you verify drawing accuracy. "Sometimes two lines meeting at one point will not let you join them or use them as hatch boundaries." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
Joining Polylines vs. Filleting
Frequent tipster Danny Korem discusses using the Fillet command in AutoCAD to join polylines. "You have created some linework, and now you have decided to turn it all into a closed polyline." View the complete tip and post your feedback.
AutoCAD Civil 3D Tip: Use Caution When Editing a Civil 3D Xref in Place
Mike A. Porter shares a warning about using the Edit Xref in Place command when working with AutoCAD Civil 3D drawings. "Unfortunately this tool often breaks Civil 3D, causing errors or issues with Civil 3D objects like points," commented Cadalyst tip reviewer Brian Benton.
