Siemens PLM Software announced that its NX Nastran software is now available via the cloud from Rescale, an on-demand, scalable cloud environment. ZWCAD Architecture Named Product of the Year for Building Construction
ZWCAD Architecture was awarded a Top Builder 2014 award for Product of the Year for Building Construction by Builder magazine. The judges' decision was based on the software's new features and ease of use. The award was presented in March at the Budma International Construction Fair in Poland.

Scanners: Leica T-Scan 5
Hexagon Metrology introduced the Leica T-Scan 5 handheld scanner, which the company says is more than 15 times faster than the previous model and has nearly double the stand-off distance for more efficient data capture. The Leica T-Scan 5 is appropriate for applications in the aerospace, automotive, shipbuilding, and earth-moving industries.

MCAD: VXmodel 3D Scan-to-CAD Software
VXmodel, a 3D scan data post-treatment software module from Creaform, enables users to finalize 3D scan data for use directly in any CAD or 3D printing software. VXmodel is fully integrated with VXelements, Creaform's 3D software platform, which reportedly eliminates the need for design professionals to learn third-party software for most applications.
