Assign Random Property Colors
21 Dec, 2011 By: Alastair RobertsonFemap Tips and Tricks: You can assign colors to various properties, or let the software do the job for you.
Editor's Note: This tutorial courtesy of Siemens PLM.
Clearly distinguishing the various properties of the model can aid model visualization. This tutorial will explain how to randomly assign individual colors for each property in Femap.
First of all, to view the model by property color, switch that on in View > Options by selecting 3..Property Colors under Element in the Labels, Entities and Color category. Then select Apply.
Now in the menus you can select Modify > Color > Property to get the selection dialog. Alternatively, in the Model Info tree you can expand the Model, right-click on Properties, and select Color.
At this stage you can select a color for all properties; however, if you click OK at this point Femap issues the prompt, "OK to Apply the Same Color to All Entities (No=Randomize)?" If you click No, Femap will assign random colors to all the individual properties.
