Reseller will provide high-definition scanners to companies engaged in surveying, plant design, architecture, and facilities management nationwide.

Avatech Solutions announced that it has become a Leica Geosystems Gold Dealer, providing Leica's high-definition scanners (HDS) to U.S. companies engaged in surveying, plant design, architecture, and facilities management.

"Avatech's partnership with Leica Geosystems has helped our clients to implement the leading edge of scanning technology and open up new lines of business," said Bruce White, senior vice-president of sales at Avatech. "Our technical experts understand the overall business, and when we sell a scanner, we are selling a new way for our customers to provide greater accuracy to their clients. Forward-thinking companies are leading a new wave of engineering accuracy and efficiency by adopting these new HDS systems."

Nederveld and Associates, a full-service civil and survey engineering firm located in Michigan, has purchased two high-definition Leica scanners from Avatech. The firm purchased the HDS 3000 and the HDS 6000 and uses Leica Cloudworx software in conjunction with AutoCAD Land Desktop to produce project drawings and maps. Nederveld has two surveyors dedicated to high-definition scanning projects. The company states that it has successfully produced drawings for many diverse jobs, including stadiums, manufacturing facilities, plants, parks, roads, bridges, and architectural projects.
