CADalytic Provides SpecifiCAD Beta for AutoCAD, AutoCAD Architecture, and Google SketchUp

29 Oct, 2007

Functionality from McGraw-Hill's Sweets Networks allows designers to access CAD details, SketchUp 3D models, catalogs, three-part specifications, and green information using SpecifiCAD interface on the desktop.

CADalytic Media announced that it has updated the SpecifiCAD beta for Autodesk AutoCAD, AutoCAD Architecture, and Google SketchUp.

As part of CADalytic's collaboration with McGraw-Hill Construction, SpecifiCAD incorporates the functionality of the latest revision of the Sweets Network to provide manufacturer content directly on the CAD desktop. Designers can access CAD details, SketchUp 3D models, catalogs, three-part specifications, and green information using the updated SpecifiCAD interface, CADalytic reports.

The SpecifiCAD for AutoCAD beta includes a multi-hyperlink utility and SKP file drag-and-drop function. Using the updated hyperlink utility, designers can link multiple relevant manufacturer product Web pages, browse, reorder, modify, and copy links to similar objects, the company reports. Additionally, standardized properties for imported SKP files now contain standard attribute sets (ModelInfo, ProductInfo, AuthorInfo) that are captured as properties when a SKP file is imported into AutoCAD. The SpecifiCAD for SketchUp beta includes a multi-hyperlink utility and Replace/Replace Similar functionality for SKP files from the desktop.

SpecifiCAD also is available for Autodesk Revit Building and Revit Architecture and Bentley Architecture. These versions reportedly leverage the new SpecifiCAD Sweets Network user interface as well.

The free beta release of SpecifiCAD is available immediately. CADalytic states that all versions are for the Microsoft Windows platform only.
