INUS Technology Releases New Rapidform 3D Point-Processing Library

15 Oct, 2008

New component library supports large point-cloud data sets.

INUS Technology, provider of 3D scan-data processing software, announced the release of Rapidform.dll v2. The Rapidform.dll component library is used in a variety of end-user applications for the handling of large point-cloud data sets including facilitating visualization, mesh modeling, surface modeling, solids modeling, and dimensional inspection.

According to the company, this latest version is a ground-up, rewrite upgrade, employing INUS Technology's Rapidform XO kernel for 3D scan data. The library is targeted at the most demanding point-processing applications, handling vast, multimillion point data sets.

Rapidform.dll v2 includes these features:

  • large data-set support
  • memory management
  • native 64-bit platform support
  • multi-thread, multi-core architecture support
  • operation suspension, interruption, and progress-indication support
  • consistent color preservation and manipulation tools

"Rapidform.dll V2 is a clear response to the needs of our customers. The trend toward collecting larger data sets is only escalating. We've seen this need in industries as disparate as medical imaging, manufacturing, all the way up to large-scale, physical-plant and geo-measurement. INUS Technology is pleased to provide our licensees with the enabling tools to meet the demands of their customers, and by doing so, continuing INUS Technology's tradition of leadership as the world's most widely used point-processing software," said Calvin Hur, vice-president of marketing and global sales at INUS.
