Automatic Wire Sequencing in AutoCAD Electrical

24 Feb, 2016 By: Elvis R. Sverko

IMAGINiT Tricks Tutorial: Manually creating a report to designate the exact sequence for connecting wires and pins takes extra time, which is always in short supply. Fortunately, AutoCAD Electrical software can perform these tasks automatically.

If a different wire sequence is desired, right-click on the wire in the drawing and select Wire Sequence > Edit Wire Sequence. The Edit Wire Connection Sequence dialog box will appear. Set up the desired wire connection order by selecting a particular wire in the list, and use the Move Up or Move Down buttons to place that wire in a new ordered position within the sequence, as shown below.

Once the final desired sequence is established, click the OK-new button, and the new wire sequence will be created. This new wire sequence can then be viewed using the Show Wire Sequence option in the right-click menu, or by recreating a new Wire From/To List Report, as shown below.

Now you can create the exact desired wire sequence of a circuit using the Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical software.
