Cadalyst Verifies Systems Benchmark Test for AutoCAD 2017 and 2018

11 Dec, 2017 By: Art Liddle

Cadalyst has verified that the Cadalyst Systems Benchmark C2015 v5.5b, designed to test and compare the performance of systems running AutoCAD, can be used with AutoCAD versions 2000–2018. Test files for C2015 v5.5b are available free for download. For AutoCAD versions 2017 and 2018, an additional step is necessary for proper benchmark test execution; refer to the updated ReadMe file for full instructions and information.

Important note: The Cadalyst Systems Benchmark is designed for use with full, basic AutoCAD only. It is not intended for use and may not function properly with market-specific AutoCAD versions such as Architecture, Mechanical, or Civil 3D; AutoCAD LT; trial versions; international versions; etc.

The test evaluates four areas of system performance: 3D Graphics, 2D Graphics, Disk, and CPU. It compares the test times of your current system with a set of base times and computes an index number. As is true for all benchmark tests, the Cadalyst Benchmark Test is merely a guide for measuring system performance.

The original Cadalyst Systems Benchmark was released in 1996. All versions have been developed by Art Liddle, a former editor of Cadalyst magazine and now a physics teacher at Springfield High School in Springfield, Oregon.

Hello Mr. Liddle some years ago some commands in the benchmark-code were not "_international" - they missed the leading _underline and produced an error on non-english software. Is this fixed now?
