Work with AutoCAD Electrical 2015 in Autodesk Vault
28 Dec, 2014 By: Alex KaranIMAGINiT Tricks Tutorial: Learn the ins and outs of using AutoCAD Electrical in the Autodesk Vault environment.
Right-click on the Project file and you will find Vault options to manage either the Project (WDP) file or the Project file with all DWG files attached to it.
Right-click on the folder and there will be Vault options to manage DWG files grouped in the selected folder.
Right-click on the drawing and there will be Vault options to manage the selected DWG file.
When working in the multi-user environment with multiple designers, do not check out the WDP project file. Be sure to check out from Vault only the files that you are working on. If you try to work on a file and it is not checked out from Vault, Autodesk Vault will send a message to advise that the file is “Read Only” and needs to be checked out from Vault.
AutoCAD Electrical will work with Autodesk Vault and if cross-reference data (parent–child, source–destination, schematic–panel) needs to be updated on the drawings not checked out by you, it will check out those drawings and make updates to cross-references and check those drawings in. The same is true to the project WDP file.
Check In AutoCAD Electrical Files to Vault
The easiest way to make sure all files of the project are checked in is to right-click on the WDP project file and select “Check In all…”
In the Check In dialog box, make sure that files' and folders' locations will be correct in Vault.
