Work with AutoCAD Electrical 2015 in Autodesk Vault

28 Dec, 2014 By: Alex Karan

IMAGINiT Tricks Tutorial: Learn the ins and outs of using AutoCAD Electrical in the Autodesk Vault environment.

In the Check In dialog box, ensure that “Create Visualization Attachment” is on. If this option is off, you will not be able to see drawings in Vault Explorer or Vault Web Client (available in Vault Professional).  A crossed red circle over the DWF icon means “Create Visualization Attachment” is off.

In order to turn on “Create Visualization Attachment,” select the “Settings” button and set if you want to create visualization attachment (DWF file) including Only Model Space, or Model Space with layouts.

It is recommended to add comments using the Check In dialog box. Comments you add will stay with checked-in file versions and can be searchable criteria within Vault Explorer.

Nice article, thanks, but the heading "Electrical Design Project for a Shared Multi-User Environment" is a bit misleading since the article only discusses the single-user environment. The Vault working folder is shown as c:\Demo - which is not a shared location for all AutoCAD Electrical users. Perhaps a follow-up article showing how to set up a shared working-folder location would be useful.
