Throwback Thursday – The Coveted Mug

About 25 years ago I was a mechanical designer, Autodesk customer, and a contributing member of the Autodesk Beta Programs. I received free products occasionally like tee-shirts, and other items as rewards for bug reporting and feedback, but one gift stood out. It was a simple black ceramic coffee mug with Autodesk logo in gold lettering. I used that mug proudly for years until the Autodesk logo wore off leaving me with a simple black ceramic coffee mug.

Autodesk University 2017 Day 3 and Final Day

Thursday November 16, 2017  was the last and final day of Autodesk University. The day kicked off with the breakfast for thousands of attendees.

Wednesday November 15, 2017  was action packed including a sunrise yoga option for early rising attendees that was sold out. Those who did not rise early were still greeted by the same long hallways of the Palazzo or Venetian.

This is the largest Autodesk University, ever at over 10,500 attendees here in Las Vegas.

Dam Good Day

Today we took two buses of Autodesk University attendees on a field trip to the Hoover Dam. Dave Winslow of the US Bureau of Reclamation and myself presented the 3D reality capture work we did upriver at the Glen Canyon Dam using LiDAR, SONAR, and photogrammetry for perhaps the largest point cloud dataset. After the presentation all those attending got a nice tour of the Hoover Dam.
