Vuuch Joins Autodesk Developer Network
18 Sep, 2012 By: Cadalyst StaffChris Williams, CEO and founder of Vuuch, announced that the company has formally joined the Autodesk developer network and has directly integrated Vuuch collaboration technology with AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor. Vuuch software, which captures the informal interactions of people involved in the product-development process and makes them an accessible part of the product record, is now available thru the Autodesk App Store and partner products books, Williams said in an e-mail message today. "Our first Autodesk integrations are with Inventor and AutoCAD but we fully expect to integrate Vuuch with Autodesk 360" -- the latter referring to that company's new cloud-based design and collaboration services.
Previously, Vuuch connected with AutoCAD and Inventor via plug-ins.
Following is the full text of the Vuuch announcement, released September 12:
Vuuch today announced it will support the 2013 manufacturing software portfolio from Autodesk, Inc., a leader in 3D design, engineering and entertainment software, including the new Autodesk Product Design Suite.
The new suites provide a broad range of cloud services to help manufacturers more efficiently design, build and deliver better products faster, and potentially reduce costs.
Vuuch is embedding its enterprise social software into Autodesk Design Suites for manufacturers. The integration of Vuuch collaborative product development solutions provides deeper collaboration throughout the product development process for mutual customers of Autodesk and Vuuch.
“Vuuch social product development capabilities extend community and project execution functionality across the Autodesk Product Design Suite,” said Chris Williams, CEO, founder of Vuuch. “Autodesk has a stellar track record for delivering important products to market by working closely with partners. When coupled with the company’s commitment to the cloud, partnering with Autodesk was an easy decision.”
“The Autodesk 2013 portfolio provides our customers with a faster path to product development and delivery ROI,” said Robert “Buzz” Kross, Autodesk senior vice-president, Design, Lifecycle, and Simulation. “Vuuch’s solution extends our design technology with valuable collaborative functionality. And combining Vuuch with Autodesk 360 cloud services allows customers to capture a more complete record of the development process.”
Vuuch will be supporting the following Autodesk products:
AutoCAD 2013
AutoCAD 2012
Inventor 2013
Inventor 2012
Vuuch is available through Autodesk Exchange Apps Stores within AutoCAD and Inventor and at www.vuuch.com.
