CAD Managers - to prevent people from wasting your (and their) time "troubleshooting" system variable setting changes, use the Express Tools SYSVDLG command to capture a "clean" version of their system variable settings (upon computer setup or when upgrading to a new version). When AutoCAD goes awry, restore the file (and the clean environment) by importing it through the SYSVDLG tool to reset any variables people have altered. No need to figure out just what the heck they did to their computers - reset ALL of the sysvars. Next on Lynn Allen: Registry Editing for Dummies. I'm looking forward to the pre-holiday overtime, as we speak. >:-\
