TerraGo Technologies Partners with Autodesk

14 Jan, 2008

As an Independent Software Vendor, company will offer Map2PDF for AutoCAD Map 3D customers.

TerraGo Technologies, provider of geospatial data distribution and collaboration solutions, announced yesterday that the company has formed a partnership with Autodesk as an Independent Software Vendor (ISV). TerraGo Technologies will offer Map2PDF, the software used to create GeoPDF files, for AutoCAD Map 3D customers. TerraGo Technologies solutions are designed to enhance the business of Autodesk and TerraGo Technologies' mutual customers by making geospatial data readily available in the PDF format.

"One of Autodesk's strengths lies in our channel partnerships," said Bill Griffin, vice-president of North American channel sales at Autodesk. "As we continue to grow, we are excited to have our ISV partners such as TerraGo Technologies grow with us and collectively be able to support our customer needs in niche industries that our ISV partners serve."

TerraGo Technologies pioneered the GeoPDF format, the only geospatial data distribution and collaboration platform that leverages the Adobe PDF format. Map2PDF allows customers to publish and collaborate on GeoPDF files, which contain cartographic data and mapping capabilities including layers and embedded feature attributes. The GeoPDF Toolbar gives users access to detailed digital maps in Adobe Reader.

AutoCAD Map3D users will be able to create map books in GeoPDF format for distribution to field workers, first responders, planners, contractors, and other constituents who use maps. Map2PDF for AutoCAD Map 3D will be available in the first quarter of 2008.

"GeoPDF offers substantial benefit to the AutoCAD Map user, and we are pleased to be working with Autodesk to bring additional value to those customers," said Karen Morley, senior director of marketing at TerraGo Technologies.
