CIMdata releases latest analysis of who's selling, who's buying product lifecycle management software

In April 2005, Industry Week published the article "Manufacturers Nibbling On PLM," summing up the buyers' cautious ingestion of product lifecycle management products. Has the appetite increased since then? According to PLM Market Analysis -- 2006 Report, released last week by PLM consultant and researcher CIMdata, consumption accounted for $18.1 billion in 2005 -- growth of 8.8% from 2004's $16.7 billion. CIMdata also estimates that the PLM market's plate will expand at a compounded annual growth rate of approximately 8.3%, reaching $27 billion by 2010.p>

CIMdata estimated the cPDm (collaborative product definition management) portion of the 2005 PLM market at $6.1 billion. That too exceeded previous forecasts, representing an increase of approximately 14.7% over 2004. This segment is expected to reach $6.8 billion by 2006 and $11.6 billion by 2010 with a compounded annual growth rate of approximately 14%, according to the researcher.  Read more >>
