Cadalyst Announces Bimonthly Publication Schedule for 2009
9 Dec, 2008Change in frequency from 12 to six annual issues will take effect with the January/February 2009 edition.
Questex Media Group, Inc. announced today that Cadalyst magazine will initiate a bimonthly publication schedule in 2009. The change in frequency from 12 to six annual issues will take effect with the January/February 2009 edition.
Cadalyst is the computer-aided design (CAD) industry's definitive source of industry news, trends, product reviews, and tips and tricks for CAD managers, architects, engineers, and other influential users of CAD software. Cadalyst, which serves the AEC, manufacturing, and GIS markets, comprises a magazine, a network of Web sites, and seven e-newsletters.
The move to bimonthly publication is in response to continually rising paper, postage, and printing costs, the company reports.
"Maximizing the value we provide to the CAD community continues to be Cadalyst's priority number one. Aside from the obvious cost savings, reducing frequency of the magazine will enable us to better serve our audience and advertisers," said Amy Coronato Osborn, publisher. "The immediacy of digital media allows our audience to easily research technologies, companies and products, view tutorials, search tips, and download programming code. Digital media also offers advertisers more flexibility and easily measured ROI.
"Cadalyst magazine continues to be highly valued by 62,000 subscribers," Osborn added, "and we plan to better serve them with a thicker, more comprehensive magazine six times per year. The majority of Cadalyst's audience prefers to read feature articles and other long-form journalism in print."
Each bimonthly edition of Cadalyst will continue to include the magazine's trademark Cadalyst Labs Reviews, expert-written columns, insightful news analysis from executive editor Kenneth Wong, and the popular "Hot Tip Harry" column of AutoCAD customization routines. Next year's offerings will introduce in-depth technology features, profiles of CAD users, and other new standards as well.
Cadalyst's e-newsletters and Web site will retain their strong presence in the Cadalyst lineup for 2009. Nancy Johnson, editor-in-chief, encourages CAD users to be on the lookout for even more CAD tips and tricks coming to Cadalyst.com for 2009.
A full description of plans for Cadalyst, Cadalyst.com and Cadalyst e-mail newsletters is available for advertisers and public relations professionals in the Cadalyst 2009 Integrated Media Planner. The media kit will be available for download at www.cadalyst.com/mediakit beginning December 10.
