Contex today announced that it has acquired IDEAL's Scanner Distribution Division. IDEAL was Contex's largest U.S. distributor of wide-format scanning and imaging solutions. The company reports that the move is designed to provide stronger and more direct support to its business partners, distributors, and dealers in the North and South American markets. Additionally, Contex expects the acquisition to expand its market leadership and increase its distribution base.
"I am happy about the merger of Contex Scanning Technology and IDEAL, which will strengthen our position in the North and South American markets as well as offer our partners an opportunity to grow further," said Niels Appel, executive vice-president of sales and marketing for Contex. "IDEAL has been a valued Contex partner for many years, with more than 4000 mutual customers and a sales force that already works closely with ours."
"We are very excited to expand our presence in the large-format marketplace with Contex. We're confident that the combined strengths, service expertise, and talent of our two companies will deliver a positive experience for distributors, dealers, and end customers alike," said Phil Magenheim, president and COO of Contex Americas and co-founder of IDEAL Scanners & Systems.
