Participants Needed for Open Geospatial Consortium Standards Survey
15 Jan, 2009Survey will determine the value of using open, consensus standards created by OGC.
Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) has issued the final reminder for participation in its Business Benefits of Using OGC Standards Survey. The information collected will help OGC understand its standards effectiveness and improve its programs.
Researchers Mu Xia, from the University of Illinois, and Kexin Zhao, from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, have developed the survey in conjunction with OGC. The survey, which should take 15-20 minutes to complete, reportedly will provide input to research on standards development organizations and standards effectiveness, and also help the consortium improve its ability to address geospatial interoperability needs.
Those have already participated in a similar survey for OGC, conducted in the summer 2008, you do not need to participate in this survey.
The survey will be closed on Friday January 31, 2009.
