11 Apr, 2006

Effort aims to foster collaboration between electrical designers and the rest of the ship-design team.

ShipConstructor Software, based in Victoria, British Columbia, announced it is participating in a project that aims to examine and define specifications of an electrical design module pertinent to the international ship-building base. The development of an electrical design module is expected to foster collaboration between electrical designers and the rest of the design team.

The project was recently selected for funding by the National Shipbuilding Research Program as part of the Second-Tier Shipyard Design Enhancement Project II. The initiative is headed by Bender Shipbuilding & Repair of Mobile, Alabama. Seven shipyards and four naval architect firms are participating in it.
