SpaceExplorer 3D Mouse Now Supported by Mac OS X

18 May, 2008

Device now functions with Mac-based Maya, ArchiCAD, TurboSketch, VectorWorks, Rhino, SketchUp, PhotoShop, and more.

3Dconnexion announced today that its SpaceExplorer 3D mouse ($299) is now supported by Macintosh OS X 10.4.6 and later, allowing Mac-based design professionals to move through 3D scenes without stopping to select commands.

Mac professionals can now take advantage of the SpaceExplorer's easy-to-reach function keys to program highly used functions and keyboard modifiers, and a subtle increase or decrease in cap pressure accelerates or slows motion, enabling precise microadjustments. An ergonomically designed palm rest provides a comfortable command console. In addition, users can maneuver camera views for increased control and flexibility in applications such as Autodesk Maya and Google SketchUp.

The 3DxMacWare device driver for SpaceExplorer can be downloaded from the 3Dconnexion Web site.
