Microsoft Releases Free 3D Viewer for JT Files
Microsoft has made available the 3D Viewer for JT app, which provides 3D navigation of JT files with touch gestures for spinning, rotating, zooming, and panning, in addition to standard engineering views with an option for perspective or orthographic display. 3D Viewer for JT is free and available for any device running Windows 8.

ASCON Accepting Entries for 3D Modeling Contest
ASCON Group has opened its eleventh annual KOMPAS-3D Modeling Contest. Current and potential customers are invited to submit entries of either a 3D assembly model of a product or a 3D model of a construction project. All projects must have been developed in KOMPAS-3D. The deadline for submissions is June 1, 2013.

Data Management: PTC Windchill PDM Essentials
PTC has released the PTC Windchill PDM Essentials data management solution for small businesses. The software is designed to help companies save, track, secure, organize, and retrieve CAD data and other product development documents. Standard installations can accommodate files from multiple CAD formats, and a license includes a Microsoft SQL server database.
AEC: InspectTech Collector Mobile for iPad
Bentley Systems has launched InspectTech Collector Mobile for iPad. The new app enables infrastructure inspectors to collect inspection information, including photos and audio, in the field on their iPads. InspectTech Collector Mobile is available free for download for use with Bentley's InspectTech software.
