3D Systems Plans to Resume V-Flash Rollout Activities
19 Oct, 2008Rollout plans will continue through the first quarter of 2009.
3D Systems announced today that it plans to resume its managed phased rollout of its V-Flash FTI 230 Desktop Modeler, following the 3D Systems World Conference this week. The company previously halted shipments of this modeler earlier this year pending resolution of several technical difficulties that affected the modeler's performance. The company plans to continue with its managed phased rollout plans through the first quarter of 2009 and, pending the successful outcome of this phase, commence full commercial activities.
During the conference this week, the company also plans to unveil its high-definition V-Flash HD 230 Desktop 3D printer that will use the company's patented Film Transfer Imaging (FTI) technology. 3D Systems expects to introduce this 3D printer in 2009.
"We are pleased to be able to resume the phased rollout of our V-Flash FTI 230 Desktop Modeler as well as to share our plans to expand the range of our FTI technology and announce the development of our new, high-definition V-Flash HD 230 Desktop Modeler," said Brian Fraser, vice-president and general manager of 3D Systems' 3D printing products.
