ALGOR, Kubotek Provide Integrated CAD/FEA Solution

20 Nov, 2007

ALGOR v21 customers to receive KeyCreator CAD software, and Kubotek customers to receive ALGOR DesignCheck with KeyCreator v7.

ALGOR and Kubotek USA announced a codistribution agreement whereby ALGOR will distribute KeyCreator with its latest finite-element analysis (FEA) software, ALGOR v21, and Kubotek USA will distribute ALGOR DesignCheck with KeyCreator v7. The bundled CAD and FEA software comes with a six-month license.

KeyCreator provides translation, model repair, defeaturing, sectioning, and general editing of 3D models from various CAD formats, including ACIS, AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, IGES, Parasolid, SolidWorks, and STEP. KeyCreator features Kubotek's new FaceLogic technology, which reportedly speeds the selection and editing of design features in non-native solid models.

ALGOR DesignCheck allows users to verify individual parts with a first-pass stress analysis to virtually test the behavior of product designs. Powered by ALGOR's InCAD technology, ALGOR DesignCheck is fully associative with each updated model from Kubotek's KeyCreator and REALyze products.

"Supplying KeyCreator provides ALGOR users with a full-featured, state-of-the-art CAD package that supports native CATIA v5 parts and is tightly integrated with our software," said Bob Williams, ALGOR product manager. "KeyCreator users can use ALGOR DesignCheck to try out our linear static stress-analysis capabilities for single-part models. For more advanced analysis needs, they can easily upgrade to any of ALGOR's wide range of analysis capabilities that all work associatively with KeyCreator."
