ASCON Adds Parts Libraries to KOMPAS-3D v9
25 Feb, 2008Users can select parts directly from TraceParts catalogs and insert them into KOMPAS-3D assemblies as native 3D models.
ASCON Group and TraceParts have formed a partnership that will enable users of KOMPAS-3D v9 to access parts directly from TraceParts' mechanical parts library and insert them into KOMPAS-3D models. TraceParts' library reportedly contains more than 100 million 3D CAD models and 2D drawings from European-based and other parts suppliers in the tooling, machinery, aerospace, automotive, and other industries.
Selected parts are available in the KOMPAS native format and are automatically inserted into current assemblies as native 3D models.
"Now users of KOMPAS can increase their productivity by reducing time for designing with the library and, as a result, cut down the production costs and raise effectiveness of an industrial enterprise as a whole," said Maxim Bogdanov, CEO of ASCON Group.
TraceParts' managing director, Gabriel Guigue, added, "We believe this new integration of TraceParts catalogs will bring an incredible additional marketing exposure to all the parts vendors who work with us to create and publish their 3D catalogs, while users of KOMPAS will dramatically increase their design productivity by not having to redraw standard parts anymore."
