29 Apr, 2008CAD-integrated tool now endorsed for use with Inventor 2009.
ReverseEngineering.com - a provider of CAD-integrated reverse engineering software for the measurement, 3D digitizing, and scanning of physical molds, models, and parts -- announced that its plug-in has been certified for Autodesk Inventor 2009 under the Autodesk Inventor Certified Applications Program.
"We are extremely pleased not only to be the first ever certified reverse engineering plug-in for Autodesk Inventor but to be once again certified under the Autodesk Inventor Certified Applications Program," said Braxton Carter, chief technology officer of ReverseEngineering.com. "This clearly demonstrates the two companies' joint dedication to providing effective solutions for our customers."
The plug-in for Inventor features the ability to create models from point clouds that are true native files. It can be used for the creation of surfaces, solids, drawings, and assemblies. Additionally, the plug-in allows users to select Autodesk Inventor sketch planes and create digitized arcs, circles, lines, and splines in real time.
"The Autodesk Inventor/ReverseEngineering.com combination continues to offer Autodesk Inventor users best in class and performance," added Carter. "ReverseEngineering.com's powerful, yet easy to use capabilities can reverse engineer physical parts direct into Autodesk Inventor, eliminating IGES translation, and put them into native features tree entities quickly and easily."
