Autodesk Ships 2009 Manufacturing Solutions

Updated releases of Inventor, AutoCAD Mechanical, AutoCAD Electrical, AliasStudio, Showcase, and Productstream available immediately.


The latest versions of Autodesk's mechanical engineering and design software for manufacturing are now shipping. The 2009 product lineup includes new and enhanced versions of the Autodesk Inventor product line, as well as AutoCAD Mechanical, AutoCAD Electrical, AliasStudio, Showcase, and Productstream.

Inventor 2009 features functionality for enhanced sheet metal design and enhanced simulation. The new release also includes native 64-bit support.

Fully integrated with Inventor, Autodesk Design Review allows users to share, review, mark up, and measure digital prototypes. Features include the ability to find and locate design data in Inventor drawings, object properties, bills of materials, and parts lists published to DWF files.

AutoCAD Mechanical is AutoCAD software for manufacturing. The 2009 release includes support for the international GOST drafting standard and instant access to a Favorites list of standard parts. AutoCAD Electrical is AutoCAD software for those who design electrical controls systems. The 2009 release features a Circuit Builder that allows users to dynamically generate circuits based upon functional requirements.

The AliasStudio product family provides a set of tools for the industrial design process. New features include a reference manager for referencing large data sets and a new align tool for modeling. Showcase helps users create realistic representations from 3D CAD data to enable informed decision-making on digital prototypes. Showcase 2009 features include updated ambient shadow features and an expanded library of realistic materials.

Productstream stores and manages engineering design data and related documents to facilitate design reuse and collaboration. Productstream 2009 features improved integration with Inventor.
