Kubotek ships successor to CADKEY

23 May, 2004

Kubotek USA released KEYCREATOR, 3D engineering software based on the CADKEY and NC-Matic product lines it acquired in 2003. KEYCREATOR includes tools for solid and surface modeling, drafting, and 2- and 3-axis NC milling. It also includes translators for most parametric CAD programs, including Pro/ENGINEER, Unigraphics, CATIA, and SolidWorks. KEYCREATOR is based on technology Kubotek calls Pure Geometry, which doesn't rely on constraints or history. Kubotech believes this modeling approach will appeal to users beyond its traditional manufacturing market.

"The Kubotek vision for the new KEYCREATOR product line is much broader than MCAD," said product manager John Wright McCullough. "The Pure Geometry 3D modeling approach also has practical applications in many scientific, artistic, and engineering fields which Kubotek Corp. views collectively as Creation Engineering."
