OptiTex to Use NVIDIA Technologies in Cooperative Venture
15 Jun, 2008Industry leaders join forces to offer high-quality 3D cloth animation and simulation.
OptiTex announced today that it has joined forces to advance mutual R&D efforts with NVIDIA, a provider of visual computing technologies. According to the companies, OptiTex CAD/CAM technology can add new dimensions of reality to video avatar movement via its customizable virtual design system depicting true-to-life fabric motion. NVIDIA's new CUDA technology enables its graphics-processing unit to resolve complex computational problems.
"Our technologies are allowing virtual designers within the video game industry to benefit from the unique tools OptiTex already provides to the textile industries," said Ran Machtinger, president and CEO of OptiTex. "By combining our design solution with NVIDIA's graphics processing unit, we're now at the forefront of bringing more lifelike simulation to video screens worldwide."
"OptiTex software is an ideal fit for NVIDIA as it leverages the combined personalities of our CUDA enabled GPUs — rich graphics and data intensive computation," said Andy Keane, general manager of the GPU Computing business at NVIDIA. "OptiTex software will deliver new levels of creative freedom for designers."
