Quickparts Announces MyQuote3D

The free STL viewer detects thin walls and identifies CAD flaws.

Quickparts, a provider of manufacturing services, announced the release of MyQuote3D, an instant quoting STL viewer.

MyQuote3D allows users full 3D access to STL files for viewing purposes without requiring any other CAD program, simplifying the transition between viewing, quoting, and purchasing SLA, SLS, FDM, and PolyJet parts.

The desktop application also enables users to access the QuickQuote system, which analyzes 3D CAD data and produces online binding quotes for custom manufactured parts, ranging from rapid prototypes to production parts.

New features of the software include the ability to detect thin walls, bad edges and flipped triangles, view and quote both individual parts and assemblies, and add text annotations to a file.

"We are very pleased to offer the product-development community a free service like this," said Quickparts CEO and president Ronald L. Hollis. "Our mission is to make it easy for our customers to buy custom designed parts. With the addition of MyQuote3D, we have streamlined the process by giving users a seamless transition between viewing, quoting, and purchasing SLA, SLS, FDM, and PolyJet parts, which we believe makes the process much easier."

MyQuote3D is currently in Beta testing, and is available free to users who register.
